NHF Welcomes Dominik Zawartko As its Policy and Advocacy Associate

The National Headache Foundation (NHF) recently welcomed Dominik Zawartko as its new Policy and Advocacy Associate. He will also be leading NHF’s Migraine University program, which provides resources to young people and higher education health providers to help students living with migraine disease and headache disorders.

Zawartko, who grew up in Round Lake, Ill., brings to NHF a background of working in legal studies and writing/editing for various publishing houses. He graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Political Science/Pre-Law and a minor in English. His experience doing volunteer work and philanthropy translates well to his new position. He is also motivated by his mother’s experiences with chronic migraines.

Tom Dabertin, NHF executive director and chief executive officer, said Dominik is already adding value to the organization. “Dominik presented at the recent Migraine Retreat in California. Our members and staff will benefit from his passion, concern for others, and knowledge of our mission,” said Dabertin.

In his spare time, Zawartko enjoys creating and admiring art, listening to music, indulging in all types of cuisine, and training in the martial art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
