Arthur H. Elkind, M.D. (Emeritus)

Dr. Elkin was the Director of the Elkind Headache Center in Mount Vernon, New York from 1981 through 2011. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and received the Certificate of Added Qualification in Headache Management in 2001.
Dr. Elkind received his medical degree at the State University of New York College of Medicine, and completed residencies at Maimonides Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, and Montefiore Hospital, Bronx, NY. He served as a physician at the Headache Unit, Montefiore Hospital, working with the late Doctor Arnold Friedman from 1962 to 1973, and served as the Unit’s Acting Director from 1973-1975.
Doctor Elkind has been a frequent lecturer on various headache topics, and was on the Editorial Board of Headache Quarterly from 1990 through 2005. He has been an active member of the National Headache Foundation Board of Directors since 1988.
Doctor Elkind and his wife, Arlene, have 3 children, and reside in New Rochelle, NY.
