College life brings new routines, foods, sleep patterns, and social settings—all of which can introduce new triggers. Being prepared before an attack happens can make all the difference.

Why does it matter? In the middle of an attack, it can be hard to think clearly or communicate your needs. Having a pre-packed kit and an emergency plan ensures you’re not scrambling when you’re in pain or disoriented.

Ideas for you Emergency Kit:

  • Anti-nausea medications
  • Pain relievers (as directed by your doctor)
  • Ice/hot packs
  • Ear plugs or noise-canceling headphones
  • Sleep mask
  • Hydration packets or electrolyte drinks
  • A list of emergency contacts and insurance information

Emergency Plan Tips:

  • Know where the closest urgent care or ER is located.
  • Share your plan with someone nearby, like a roommate or RA.
  • Include clear instructions in case you can’t advocate for yourself.
