There is a large overlap between the visual system and headache disorders.

Many of the primary disorders have features referable to the eye, such as blurred vision, tearing, a droopy eyelid, eye redness or change in pupil size. The eye area is also a common area to experience headache pain, sometimes giving the mistaken impression that the pain is coming from the eye. Changes in the brain during headaches may produce visual aura symptoms, double vision, loss of vision and even upside-down vision! We will discuss various types of headaches and their neuro-ophthalmic manifestations.
